Description
Halloween Gothic Hybrid Kilt With Jack-O’-Lantern and Bat Print
A charcoal gothic kilt with a glowing jack-o’-lantern on the front, bats swirling into the night sky, and a whole colony of bats hiding in the pleats. It’s made for the spookier side of Halloween.
A Jack-O’-Lantern With a Story
The jack-o’-lantern takes its name from an old Irish tale about Stingy Jack, a trickster who fooled the Devil so many times that, when he died, he was turned away from both Heaven and Hell. He was left to wander the earth with only a burning coal inside a carved turnip to light his way. People in Ireland and Scotland began carving scary faces into turnips to keep him and other spirits away, and when they moved to America, the turnip became a pumpkin. The grinning pumpkin on this apron carries on that tradition.
Bats in the Night Sky and in the Pleats
Bats have been tied to Halloween since the days of Samhain, when great bonfires drew insects, and the insects drew bats swooping through the firelight. On this kilt, white bats fly up across the apron toward a scattering of stars. Inside the pleats, black bat silhouettes cover a white background. When you stand still, you’ll see thin white lines between the pleats. Start walking, and the bats burst out from every fold.
Charcoal Body, Black Waistband
The body is charcoal gray cotton, dark enough to feel gothic but softer than pure black, which lets the orange pumpkin and white bats stand out clearly. A black waistband with black belt loops frames the top, and silver snaps close the front.
Witch-Print Cargo Pockets
Each hip carries a charcoal flap cargo pocket closed with a snap. One shows a white witch flying on her broomstick, finishing the Halloween scene. There’s room for a phone, wallet, keys, and plenty of candy.
Where to Wear It
Halloween parties, haunted house events, costume contests, gothic club nights, and fall festivals are the perfect places for this spooky kilt. Pair it with a black shirt, black boots, and a pair of orange or striped kilt hose to finish the look.
It’s part of our hybrid kilts collection, and darker everyday styles live in our gothic kilts range. For a more playful take on the holiday, see the Halloween Hybrid Kilt with its cartoon skeleton pleats.

- Hang it by the waistband to dry so the pleats fall straight
- Order as early as you can before Halloween, as every kilt is made to measure
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the jack-o’-lantern a Halloween symbol?
It comes from the Irish legend of Stingy Jack, who wandered the earth with a lantern carved from a turnip. Later, pumpkins replaced turnips in America.
Where do the bats show on this kilt?
White bats fly across the apron, and black bat prints fill the white inner pleats, which open up as you move.
Is this kilt scary or fun?
It leans spooky and gothic, with a fierce pumpkin face and bats, but it’s still a fun party piece rather than a gory costume.
When should I order for Halloween?
As soon as possible. Each kilt is made to your measurements, so ordering early leaves time for making and delivery before 31 October.
Does the kilt have pockets?
Yes. There’s a charcoal flap cargo pocket with a snap on each hip, one with a flying witch print.
